THese attractive runners are finely woven in tea-dyed wool, using soumak technique. They originate from the Kerman area of Iran, but these days most are made in N Iraq or SE Turkey.

The name 'rah rah' means 'road road' this being a reference to the horizontal lines of the designs.

They are extremely hard-wearing and great in heavy traffic areas such as entryways & hallways.

Because of the colour palette & designs, rah-rahs combine happily with both other kilims and knotted pile rugs, so they are very versatile.
